State of Michigan and a suburb of Flint.

The populace was 5,536 at the 2000 census and fell to 5,173 by the 2010 census. Davison is positioned inside Davison Township survey township region (7 - N 8 - E), but is administratively autonomous.

Davison was titled after Judge Norman Davison, a judge of Lapeer County and a delegate to state constitution convention of 1835. He resided in a close-by hamlet formerly known as Davisonville, now known as Atlas. 1.1 Davison Station 1.2 Davison Village Township section section 3, 9 and 10 was Davison Station, which was first settled in 1842 by Eleazer Thurston in section 10.

In 1873, a cheese factory and flouring foundry opened. The Davison Station postal service was retitled to just Davison on June 30, 1893. By 1916, Davison was incorporated as a village.

In January 2010, it was announced that Davison City Manager Dale Martin and Davison Township, Michigan Supervisor Kurt Soper had begun preliminary meetings discussing the possibility of merging the two municipalities.

According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 1.98 square miles (5.13 km2), all land. The ethnic makeup of the town/city was 94.9% White, 1.8% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0% Pacific Islander, 0.7% from other competitions, and 2% from two or more competitions.

In the city, the populace was spread out with 25.8% aged birth to 19, 12.1% from 20 to 29, 12.6% from 30 to 39, 13.1% from 40 to 49, 13% 50 to 59, 11.1% from 60 to 69, and 12.1% who were 70 years of age or older.

According to the American Community Survey, 2010, The median income for a homehold in the town/city was $37,793, and the mean income for a homehold was $48,643.

About 14.5% of families and 17.5% of the town/city population were below the poverty line, with 26.6% of those being under age 18 and 5.2% of those age 65 or over.

Davison is the hometown for participants in a several prominent affairs in American history.

Kathleen Flinn, an award-winning journalist and New York Times bestselling author's memoir, "Burnt Toast Makes You Sing Good" about her life burgeoning up in Davison was titled a 2015 Michigan Notable Book by the Library of Michigan. Navy admiral and Superintendent of the Naval Academy in the early 20th Century, was born in Davison and graduated early from Davison High School to attend Annapolis, beginning a longterm position that saw him at the forefront of developing combat strategies in submarine warfare.

Robert Longfield, noted American composer and arranger, served as the band and orchestra director at Davison High School from 1972-1987.

Joseph's Hospital in Flint, Michigan, spent most of his childhood in Davison, and graduated from Davison High School in 1972.

Tim Thomas, Goaltender for the Boston Bruins is a 1992 graduate of Davison High School.
