According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 3.19 square miles (8.26 km2), all land. The town/city is surrounded on the north by Muskegon and on the south by Norton Shores, with a small region of unincorporated Muskegon Township on the east side.
As of the census of 2010, there were 10,856 citizens , 3,996 homeholds, and 2,682 families residing in the city.
